Advanced Practice Provider Integrated Substance Use Disorder Training
Started Apr 17, 2024
Full program description
The APP-IST program is a comprehensive 12-month training initiative designed to increase the number of advanced practice nurses and licensed clinical social workers skilled in diagnosing, treating, and preventing substance use disorders (SUDs), including opioid use disorders (OUDs), across Georgia.
This program emphasizes developing partnerships with community-based primary care settings to offer integrated mental health and SUD services, using culturally and linguistically congruent content in both didactic and clinical training. By focusing on trauma-informed care and addressing social determinants of health, the program aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of care for underserved populations in Georgia.
